Wine in the snow.
I wanted to wish all you drinkers of Arizona wine a happy new year, and to let you know of some changes coming up.
The general format of the blog will not change; it will be all Arizona wineries, with (as much) Arizona grapes as I can find! (This clearly has not been an issue, of course!)
However, new things will be three podcast series, scattered throughout the year. I had way too much fun doing the podcast for the Sand-reckoner Z, and have decided that more of these need to happen. These series will be under three categories:
1) Intro to Wine–Drinking with people who don’t know as much about wine, introducing wine terminology and whatnot, or simply drinking a bottle and talking about it. The idea here is to make Arizona wine more approachable. Wine isn’t rocket science, after all!
2) The Tasting Room— In this podcast series, I will drink arizona wines with other fellow tasting room employees. One of the things we will be touching upon here is fellow staff, and how we would describe wines were we working with them in the tasting room. The wine will be from a different winery than any of the tasting room staff I will be drinking with.
3) Winemaker Showcase— This series will consist of either drinking a wine with the winemaker(s) of that particular wine, barrel tasting, and blending processes with the winemaker(s). This will go into the nitty-gritty of winemaking, blending, bottling, and so forth!
In all, 2015 promises to be a fantastic year here at The Arizona Wine Monk, and I’m glad you’ve chosen to join me on this awesome journey!
